| Abstract: | The variable ‘physical health of parents raising special needs children’ has been relatively neglected in research. Psychological health in contrast has been studied extensively and was found to relate to ‘Meaning in life’ (Debats, 1996, 1999;
Mascaro & Rosen, 2005, 2006). The present study focuses on the relation between ‘meaning in life’ and the physical health of parents visiting Dutch internet forums (N = 115). The central question is whether a (positive) relation can be established between the ‘meaning in life’ dimensions self-actualization, self-acceptance, self transcendence (Loonstra, et al., 2007) and perceived physical health. |
