|Abstract: ||Together with 4 university partners and of one of UK’s leading game companies the Open Universiteit (CELSTEC) participates in the CHERMUG project which aims to develop a game to support students developing an understanding of research methods and statistics. The target audience is bachelor students nursing and social sciences. This presentation was given at the kick-off meeting of CHERMUG which took place on 30 -31 January 2012 in Glasgow.
The presentation consists of two parts. In the first part the Open University of the Netherlands and CELSTEC are introduced. In the second part, games and tools are discussed which may be of relevance for the design and development of CHERMUG. This part starts with introducings 3 game-based examples of research methods in, respectively: behavioural toxicological research; psychology - how to diagnose a client; and Skills Labs: Water Management. Additionally, two examples are discussed of development tools & methods currently in use, i.e. EMERGO, or under development, i.e. a Collaboration Scripts toolset.|
