| Abstract: | The example is connected to an experience that takes place within a course on “the use of ICT in education” at the Faculty of Education, University of Valladolid, Spain. This experience is one of the case studies included in the TELL project (http://cosy.ted.unipi.gr/tell/). This case study is a blended situation, where normal face-to-face activities are interleaved with technology-supported (distant or not) activities. It uses Synergeia system (http://bscl.gmd.de). Synergeia combines an asynchronous component named BSCL (Basic Support for Cooperative Learning) and a synchronous component called MapTool. It mainly provides a shared web-based workspace in which documents and ideas can be shared.
The real scenario consists on 40 students (maximum). The example is an extract of the case study, in which students revise three topics in order to produce a deeper understanding of them. The applied method is a combination of Jigsaw and Pyramid Collaborative Learning Flow Patterns. |
| Description: | This UoL example has been used in the preliminary evaluation of Collage, a COLlaborative Learning desiGn Editor.
More information about this example is available at http://gsic.tel.uva.es (example tab and documentation tab, it is the example of the Worksheet included in the User Manual of Collage) and in the paper:
