Abstract: This paper explores the relationship between career self-management and organizational career management and addresses the impact on employability. Also this paper addresses the interaction between career self-management and organizational career management and the impact on employability. From one division, located in a large organization within the IT sector, a sample of 101 employees reported on their career self-management initiatives, on their organizational career management support and on their employability. Despite earlier research in other sectors showing contrary results, the results in this study show no effect between career self-management and organizational career management on employability. The logical result is that an interaction effect between career self-management and organizational career management in explaining employability is not found either within the researched variables. Further theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
